This is a car driving and review channel. I love driving anything fun, fast and interesting. Most of my videos will focus on often overlooked aspects of driving and owning cars that real petrolheads will appreciate - things like steering feel, how a car rides the road and how much of a smile it can put on your face. I also spend time hunting the best b-roads and country lanes I can find - the right car, on the right road, with the right driver... magic.
You'll also hear me giggle a lot. It's a sign I'm enjoying myself :)

loving the levelheadedness of your videos
Why is the gentleman driving on the wrong side of these circular roads and why is he talking funny?
This has nothin to do with this video but is there anyway you can get the performances dails on the center screen you have in this video on the g80 m3 ?
And then there is my 2005 VW, going 120km/h at 4000 RPM
Or you simply don’t wanna act like a knob and save up some gas because you don’t have to drive “spiritedly” at all times
that was a tough one, but luckily he's got 500 horsepower, he's fine
me with conventional auto trans:
i have 9speed auto in my 2024 c class, it can do 2k rpm at 130mph
When you punch it in that M2, it is just 😩😩😩 I get there may be issues with the tech and stuff being hidden on screens, but damn do BMW know how to make an absolute animal of a car when it comes to their M range. Congrats on the channel sponsor too mate!! 👍
The main thing i think to myself is is it worth overtaking? On a main road / city i dont think so as youll likely stop at the next set of lights. On a dual carriageway or motorway theres less risk as you have a overtaking lane which likely would be clear
It sometimes feels like car manufacturers own shares in oil companies
One thing I hate is when there’s a passing lane and there’s somebody in front of you overtaking the car ahead of them but they take the pass still below the speed limit, this stops multiple cars from overtaking in a single passing lane and it’s inconsiderate.
When you're trying to meet the word count requirement on an assignment:
Lucky there wasn't a vehicle emerging from the entrance on the right at 5:19.
Really really good video, have never seen one's like that before. Big thanks
It’s not just the horsepower, but also the available torque that allows for quick acceleration for a safe and quick overtake. The M2 with manual transmission has 406 lb-ft of torque making it a breeze in 3rd gear. Unfortunately many automatics have a lag in downshifting before they accelerate, especially in comfort mode.
Country roads in the UK are really crazy, the visibility is so poor because of the tall bushes on both sides
Girly hands
Astra h gtc 1.9 150hp, diesel, 130km/h - 2250 rpm in 6th.. m32 manual.
I had some sketchy overtakes in a 80hp ford focus 1.4l
Gearboxes can also have getting that's too tall. An example is the latest mazda 2 mild hybrid. At 130kmh (about 85mph) it's only doing a little over 2000rpm. The little 90hp 1.5 engine has barely enough power and torque at that low rpm to maintain the speed, as soon as there is the slightest incline, the car starts to slow down. The engine is so laboured in 6th that you actually get better economy just driving in 5th. 6th is useless in that car.
"I shall demonstrate"😁 Yes, such occasions do teach us to be better gentle on the throttle and fully alert, even if the traction control does its best (learned myself this with 5.7 Hemi that has much more torque than the little V6). All your points shown and commented are truly spot on, very good to watch! Many thanks for this video
I can watch this just for the way you laugh, enjoying your ride.
Excellent video. Lots of useful tips, thanks mate.
How the hell do you overthink turning your steering wheel
All the new viewers here have no idea who this guy is. This logic applies to manual cars as much as it applies to flappy-paddle automatics.
😢
Bro risked his life to teach us. 😭
This is a great video but in America, Drivers almost always loves to floor it while your trying to overtake them so you often have to go like 30-40 over the speed limit to pass them. And than they flash their high beams at you for like 5 minutes.
man said you need a power graph to overtake lmao
BRYYYH these vids not getting better ffs
My fullsize Silverado with 2.7L does 1800 rpm at 70mph
The roads are so beautiful where is this?
At 4:24 he drove past here maps.app.goo.gl/8STgS3oikpy3KXPy9 Up and down B5061
Mick,,, Please keep your hand/s on the steering wheel 😦 Au
The lack of indicator usage by most.BMW drivers saves some power drag from the alternator. which boosts the MPG Tailgating helps BMW Drivers achieve beter MPG due to less air drag
My favourite car channel by far!
It was a poor overtake 😂
Decent vid, but have to disagree with the description of "squeezing" the brakes as being fastest. All things being equal (i.e. straightish corner entry), as anyone with quality seat time under their belts will attest: Stomp on the anchors AS HARD AS YOU can, and progressively get off them as you turn in. This is especially true in road cars with ABS. Genuine critique made in good faith
Thanks! I'm gonna overtake people in my 2004 80HP Corsa right now!
Type shi 😂
As someone who only passed their driving test in September last year, this was really useful :) Would love to see overtaking on dual carriage ways/motorways, too, as they've always been quite challenging.
When I initiate an overtake, out of caution, I also flash the brights.
Don’t do that
That M2 of yours seems so much fun and looks astonishing, enjoy it! Found your channel a couple days ago and I am absolutely loving your videos. Looking forward to watching the next one!
As a visual learner, I appreciate this channel a ton
Seeing this video makes me realise how slow I am overtaking with 100hp 😦
If you could share your thoughts on the M2's gearbox it will be great... TIA
How does 500 Hp help you the day you need to break when you suddenly see a child on the road? Maybe 4-wheel drive will help you🤷
4 wheel drive has little to no impact on braking. What point are you trying to make anyway?
@@ryanwilliams6526 Obviously. There is your answer.
he did talk about visibility. By child, I assume you mean deer. Humans have evolved to the point where that wouldn't happen.
My car doesn't even have 100 hp 🤣🤣🤣
You gotta think about the weight of the car though less than 200hp would drive a fiesta nicely but an SUV? Not so much.
What about torque? Having loads of torque available at relatively low rpm has a felt impact on acceleration from ~60mph. My car has very average power-to-weight ratio (260HP/2400KG) but loads of torque (600NM). I've always felt very safe overtaking with it, despite the modest HP figures.
aside from how buys motorways get theyre a pain in the ass to navigate so wherever possible i always use a/b roads because theyre simply faster. example: trip to wales took me 3h25 and i did 160 miles whereas on a motorway it was giving me 160 still but in 3h35. theres no reason for me to make my life more difficult
Plan to follow, don’t plan to overtake. Reg local made an excellent video on overtaking cyclists, which can be applied to overtaking cars too. Safer, and easier. Additionally, it’s always worth asking, is it safe, legal, and necessary.
